]]> In implementing a project aimed at increasing equal participation of women and men at decision-making levels especially on land matters, Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA) has been conducting trainings to youths from different villages of Kisarawe district council.

The trainings are based on increasing their understanding of the passed by-laws to ensure that they are implemented and bring about positive change in their villages. They also train them on land issues.

It should be remembered that TAWLA facilitated the passing of these by laws to almost 66 villages of Kisarawe district.

]]> In ensuring that the sub-project results were well articulated and documented, Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA) in collaboration with Tanzania Non-Communicable Disease Alliance (TANCDA) and the Ministry of Health held a joint reflection meeting with other members of the RECAP Country team.

This meeting gave us an opportunity to outline changes brought by the sub-project, discuss to what extent the sub-project has contributed to those changes as well as recording lesson learned under the RECAP Program.

]]> As part of implementing a sub-project titled “Promoting Healthy Diet and Physical Activity Through Advocacy for Regulatory and Policy Reforms and Community Education”, Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA) coordinated a one day training to the members of the working group on NCDs on how to conduct evidence-based, gender-sensitive and human rights based advocacy.

The training focused to equip members with practical skills and knowledge on how to prepare for and conduct evidence-based and human rights-based advocacy; particularly advocacy intervention focusing on change of law and policy.
